The license covers one application title on both iOS and Android. It includes all barcode types and features — there is only one version of the SDK.

Licensing is subject to our standard agreement. Any customization of the software or of the agreement terms is possible but will be quoted separately.

Can I get a discount for multiple apps?

Yes. If you need to license more than one app, contact us and we will work something out based on your situation.

Can I license just iOS or just Android?

Not at the standard price — the license covers both platforms as a pair. If you have multiple apps, get in touch and we can discuss it.

Can I license for less than a year?

No. Twelve months (renewable) is the only term available.

I only need a few devices. Can I pay per device or per scan?

Sorry, we are not equipped for that.

Why does it cost so much?

With the availability of good quality free SDKs, commercial barcode scanning is a niche market. Even with our low overhead, a smaller license fee would not be viable and you would end up with fewer choices.

Why does it cost so little?

Because we are a small company with low overhead. We do not have a large sales team, marketing, account managers, forward-deployed engineers, etc., on payroll. Our main cost is the maintenance and the improvement of the software.

What about data privacy? And security?

The production SDK collects no user data and makes no network requests of its own. It runs entirely on-device. That is the highest possible level of privacy and security, guaranteed by our license terms.

What does the license actually cover?

One app title, both iOS and Android, for twelve months. All barcode types. Android and iOS. No feature tiers, no add-ons. Renewal at the same price unless we notify you otherwise.

What is not included in the standard license?

Custom algorithm tuning, dedicated integration support, modifications to the standard terms, app development. These are available but priced separately. Talk to us if you need any of that.

Could I just ask an AI to develop a barcode reader?

If you have the time and the inclination to do so, you should definitely try. Our guess is that you will end up with software similar to existing open source libraries, or of lower quality.
